Ars poetica

The aim of architecture is to create places. We believe that, beyond the basic need for environmental comfort, it is order and conceptual clarity that provide a sense of safety in a deeper, intellectual sense. In our work, we strive to bring together the formal and conceptual elements of architecture into a coherent whole capable of creating real, tangible places. Places where we feel safe, and where we can truly be ourselves.

Experience

Our firm was founded in 2009, following our architectural studies at the Doctoral School of Architecture at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Our work is defined not only by quality and precision, but also by a deep cultural sensitivity and a commitment to artistic integrity. Several of our completed projects were shortlisted for the national pre-selection of the Mies van der Rohe Award. In 2018, our work was recognized with the Péter Molnár Memorial Award. In 2021, our design for the Hungarian Consulate in Lendava received the Pro Architectura Award, and the heritage reconstruction of the Sipeki Villa in Városliget, Budapest, received the ICOMOS Award in 2025. Our incubator house project in Debrecen, the Szárító Workshop, was selected for the highlighted category of the Slovenian Piranesi Award in 2024.

Methodology

Our professional approach is characterized by a sensitivity to environmental and cultural contexts, and a focus on uncovering the unique potential in every design challenge. In our work, we balance the search for rational, thoughtful solutions with the exploration of opportunities offered by specific situations resulting in designs that are both contemporary and rooted in tradition. Alongside our architectural practice, our academic involvement plays an important role. At the Faculty of Architecture of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), we are engaged in leading the Department of Residential Building Design. We believe that our commitment to innovation, supported by our research groups at the university, is key to maintaining the quality of our work.

Clients

Over the past years, our experience has spanned all scales of architectural design—from public urban spaces and heritage building reconstructions to new public, residential, and industrial buildings, as well as standalone interior design projects. We place great emphasis on supporting our clients during the early stages of each project and in cost management throughout the design process. Our office operates as a team of around ten people, including the founding members, and we value close collaboration. Through the years, we have developed strong partnerships with numerous specialized consultants, laying the foundation for comprehensive and professional general design services.
